Camden, Aug. 10. – The performances given the last two nights in the opera house by the Richland Volunteer minstrels has been well attended.

The county campaign party met today at Beaver dam.

Mr. James M. Davis died this morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Davis was a young man, well thought of by everyone and his untimely end is greatly deplored. The deceased had been engaged in the business away from Camden for a number of years, but about a year ago had to return to Camden on account of his bad health. He leaves two brothers and two sisters, besides a number of other relatives, to mourn his loss.

Camden, Aug. 11. – The remain of Mr. James M. Davis were interred here this afternoon. The funeral services were held in Grace Episcopal church. The deceased was a grandson of the late Bishop Davis of Camden.
