Mr. Ben Davis Was Drowned in Lynches Creek.

Bethune, Feb. 11. – Mr. Ben Davis, who disappeared from his home several days ago, was found in Little Lynche’s Creek near a foot log on last Friday morning, having been in the creek just one week.

The verdict of the coroner’s jury w3as accidental drowning.

Mr. Hick King, son of Mr. W. C. King of Bishopville, died near Bethune Sunday morning after a lingering illness and was buried at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church yesterday.

Rev. S. D. Bailey, pastor of East Kershaw circuit, has moved his family to Bethune, Where they will reside in the future.

Mr. E. L. Sowell, who has been guarding convicts in Coalburg, Ala., for the past two or three years, is spending some time at Bethune, where is being treated by Dr. B. L. Norwood.
