FOUR DEATHS IN A WEEK
Unusual Number of Families Bereaved in Camden.

Camden, March 9. – Camden has been saddened by an usual number of deaths this last week. Mr. A. A. McDowell, well known throughout Kershaw county, died at the home of his son, Mr. R. A. McDowell, in his 79th year of heart disease.
Early Friday morning Mrs. L. L. Block died at the age of 32 after an illness lasting a week. The burial took place at the Jewish cemetery at 12 o’clock on Sunday, and the usually large attendance at the funeral evidenced the esteem in which the deceased was held.
After a long weeks of illness Miss Susie Lenoir Haile, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Haile, passed away early Saturday morning. The funeral service were held at 4 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, the funeral procession then moved down to the cemetery. Messrs. A. D. Kennedy and Samuel Boykin acted as honorary pallbearers; Messrs. John G. Workman, C. J. Shannon, Jr., H. G. Lenoir, W. S. Curnet, C. C. Moore and W. A. Boykin as pall bearers.
The funeral of Mr. J. K. Dubose took place Sunday morning at 10 o’clock at the Camden cemetery. The body was Saturday in a field near Stockton below Camden, with a gunshot wound in the head, and it is supposed that the deceased committed suicide while mentally unstrung.
