The Funeral of Mrs. Lucretia Kershaw

Camden, May 1. – The funeral of Mrs. Lucretia Kershaw (widow of Gen. Joseph Brevard Kershaw) took place on Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock from Grace church, the rector, the Rev. W. B. Gordan, officiating. The honorary pallbearers were Messrs. W. A. Ancrum, A. M. Brailsford, Dr. A. A. Moore, W. D. Trantham, J. T. Hay, Joel Hough, J. E. Vaughan, W. M Shannon, Dr. J. W. Corbett. The active pallbearers were. T. W. Lang, W. B. DeLoach, W. M Shannon, Jr., John Kershaw, Jr., Kershaw Lang, J. K. Shannon, Theodore Kershaw. The large gathering at the church and cemetery testified to the love and esteem with which the deceased was regarded. In the memory of those who knew her she will ever stand out as a shining example of a devoted and loving wife and mother, true friend and zealous Christian.
