REV. DR. STOKES STRICKEN

Former Presiding Elder Hero Paralyzed at Greenwood

Rev. Dr. A. J. Stokes, Methodist presiding elder at Charleston, preceding Dr. Bays, was stricken with paralysis at Greenwood Tuesday, and is now in a critical condition. His family are at his bedside in Greenwood.

Dr. Stokes is well known in Charleston and his many friends here will be sorry to learn of his illness. He was present at the investigation into the case of Rev. C. W. Creighton, editor of The Christian Appeal.
