County Candidates Must Have Qualified Before Noon on July 24.

The time for candidates for county offices to qualify expires Friday at noon. All citizens expecting to make a race for one of the offices must have signed the agreement to abide by the rules and pay the assessment fee or be denied the privilege.

R. Beverley Sloan, chairman of the county democratic executive committee, said this morning, “I Am informed that some of the candidates for office in Richland county are under the impression that the time for filing pledges and paying assessments does not expire until the 28th of July: this is an error, the county committee has fixed 12 o’clock non Friday, the 24th of July, as the time limit and the entries will close promptly at this hour. A good many parties who have announced themselves as candidates have failed to qualify as such and it is very important for them to bear in mind that the time in which they can do so is growing very short.”

At noon today the following candidates had qualified for the offices mentioned in connection with their names:
