JOHN ABBOTT DIES AT RIPE OLD AGE
Richland County Farmer Passes Away at Seventy-nine – Funeral Service Today.
John Percival Abbott, 79 year of age, died at his home on the Two Notch Road at 7:30 o’clock yesterday morning, January 6, 1922. Mr. Abbott was a farmer and was well known and liked in the community.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters, John Abbott and Dock Abbott of Columbia, Rabus Abbott and James Abbott of Blaney, Mrs. James Sharp of Columbia and Mrs. Vannie Brannon of Blaney.
Funeral services will be held at Jackson Creek church this morning, January 7, 1922, at 11:30 o’clock.
Venerable Citizen Died Here Friday
J. P. Abbott, aged 80 years, died Friday at his home on the Two Notch road after an illness of about a week. Mr. Abbott had been in feeble health for some time but was not considered seriously sick until about a week ago.
Mr. Abbott leaves many friend here to mourn his death. He is survived by his widow, three daughters and four sons.
The funeral services will be Sunday at noon at Jackson Creek Baptist church in Richland country.
