Horse Show at Camden Success

Camden, April 1 – The fourteenth annual horse show, which opened Thursday afternoon, was well attended by the tourists and Camden citizens. The weather was ideal and the horse show will be remembered as a distinct success. There were quite a number of entries of handsome animals.

The prize winners were as follows;

Single harness horses – 1st prize, $20.00, Martha Wilson, J. T. Shaw, Bishopville; 2nd, $10.00, Golden Glow, G. R. Cook, Camden; 3rd, ribbon, Emperor, G. T. Little, Camden.

Colts – 1st prize, $10.00, My Favorite, G. T. Little, Camden; 2nd, $5.00, Nipper, C. M. Tainter, Camden; 3rd ribbon, Maid, J. G. Kelly, Blaney.

Pair harness horses – 1st prize, $20.00, Golden Glow and Mate, G. R. Cook, Camden; 2nd, $10.00, bettie and Brownie, C. M. Tainter, Camden; 3rd ribbon, Leading Man and Mate, G. R. Cook, Camden.

Children’s Saddle Ponies – 1st prize cup, Beauty, L. H. Bramlett, Camden; 2nd, $10,00, Arizona, Miss Martha Ticknor, Camden; 3rd, ribbon, Mavourneen, Miss Lucy Pomeroy, Camden.

Ladies Single Harness Horses – 1st price, $15.00, 1st Gad Fly, Miss Francis Todd, Camden; 2nd $10.00, Betty, C. M. Tainter, Camden; 3rd, Foxy, Mrs. Leonard Graham, Camden.

Combination harness and Saddle horses – 1st prize, $15.00, first, Golden Glow, G. R. Cook, Camden; 2nd ribbon, Starlight, C. T. Little, Camden; 3rd, Jack O’Lantern, J. T. Shaw, Bishopville, ribbon.

Ladies’ saddle horses – 1st prize, $15.00, first, Persiflage, Miss Lucy Pomeroy, Camden; 2nd, $10.00, Wolf, C. M. Tainter, Camden; 3rd ribbon, Kettle Drum, S. B. Robinson, Camden.

Saddle Horses – 1st prize, $15.00, War Maid, Francis Todd, Camden; 2nd, $10.00, Leading Man, G. R. Cook, Camden; 3rd, ribbon, Butterfly, L. H. Bramlett, Camden.

Saddle horses – 1st prize $15.00, first, Theda Bara, W. A. Boykin, Boykin; 2nd, $10.00, My Favorite, G. T. Little, Camden; 3rd, ribbon, Jack O’Lantern, J. T. Shaw, Bishopville.

Polo mounts – $25.00 added money, first, Hopping, C. R. Little, Camden; 2nd, Arizona, Miss Martha Ticknor, Camden; 3rd, Shorty, Ralph Little, Camden.

Single harness horse championship, championship ribbon, 2nd prize, reserve ribbon, first, Gad Fly, Miss Francis Todd, Camden; 2nd, Martha Wilson, J. T. Shaw, Bishopville. Class No. 9, first, Persiflage, Mis Lucy Pomeroy, Camden; 2nd, W. A. Boykin, Boykin.

Hunter or Jumpers – Persiflage, Miss Lucy Pomery, prize, $15.00.
