The Columbia navy recruiting station at the old post office accepted eight men out of thirty-five applicants for enlistments during the past week, transferring them to Atlanta, according to the report of A. J. Lewis, in charge. The Men accepted were:
John F. Manus, New Brookland; Asron T. Leorpard, Newberry; Curtis J. Leorpard, Newberry; Rogers M. McFerrin, Greenwood; Benjamin F. Monroe, Due West; William F. Rollins, Lancaster; Boyde Putman, Blaney; Raymond Meggs Lockhart.
