Dr. E. B. Setxler of Newberry college is one of the speakers on the program Thursday afternoon for the department of teachers of English.
Dr. W. D. Maginnis, of Winthrop college, is another leading educator and high in the ranks of the association. He is secretary of the department of teachers of education.
W. Jay McGarrity, superintendent of the Aiken city schools, is a veteran member of the state association.
W. A. Schiffley, an alumnus of the University of South Carolina is now county superintendent of education for Orangeburg county. He has added the Edisto county to list of 100 per cent enrollment in the state association.
From Orangeburg’s neighbor county, Calhoun another 100 per cent enrollment is announced, largely through the efforts of P. L. Geiger, county superintendent.
The University of South Carolina faculty is enrolled 100 per cent in the state association.
O. B. Cannon, superintendent of schools at Newberry is second vice vice president of the South Carolina Teachers’ association. He will preside over some of the general meetings this week-end.
Winthrop college has a large delegation from its faculty at the association. Several of the teachers are on the departmental programs.
Numbers of alumni of Clemson college are attending the teachers convention. Among these are P. B. Waters of Saluda, J. B. Eubanks of Aiken, J. C. Poole of Newberry, C. P. Truluck of Lake City, W. H. Washington of Clemson college, and A. E. Kay of Greenville, Prof. W. G. Crandall of Clemson college is also attending the convention.
Miss Lonny I. Landrum, well-known throughout the state in her work as state home demonstration agent, is attending the convention from Winthrop college. Miss Bessie of Aiken also of the home demonstration department, is in Columbia.

Woman Outnumber Men
From the looks of the registration cards at the State teachers convention headquarters the majority attendance is held by the women. A brief glance at the people on the streets and in the meetings, as well as at the registration cards show that the women far outnumber the men.
