Holly Hill School Organization Gives Entertainment.
Special to The State.
Holly Hill, April 28. – A concert by the Holly Hill high school glee club was given at the school auditorium Friday night, April 24, to a large and appreciative audience, an interesting program was presented.
The glee club was organized in the early part of the school year and the high class entertainment presented Friday night fully demonstrated the able leadership of their director, Miss Mayme Graham, who was formerly on the lyceum as a soloist and reader. Miss Graham, who was apoloist of the evening, gave as encores two Pianologues, which were much enjoyed by the audience.
The choruses by the glee club were exceptionally well rendered. “The Scarf Pantomime” was a beautiful number. The minuet was delightful in old colonial costumes.
Misses Clara Mae Kizer and Ruth Critcher displayed histrionic talent of high order in the rendition of their selections. The closing numbers were ukulele selections given by the glee club in Neapolitan peasant costumes and were charming. The high school orchestra gave several Selections most creditably.
