The annual inspection of the Governor’s Guards was made in the armory last night by Assistant Adjutant General Lewis W. Haskell and Col. Ezra B. Fuller as the representative of the war department.
Representative Lever addressed the house Wednesday at Washington on the policy of the postoffice department with reference to rural delivery.
Prof. L. T. Baker, superintendent of Mt. Zion academy at Winnsboro, and and J. Frank Fooshe, editor of Winnsboro News and Herald, were in the city last night.
W. J. Craiz, the passenger traffic manager of the Atlantic Goast Line, was in the city yesterday.
The Rev. Andrew Jackson Stokes, D. D., of the South Carolina Methodist conference died at Greenwood yesterday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Mellichamp of Ridgeway were in the city last night.
