Fort Mill, Sept. 5. – The opening exercises which marked the beginning of the fall term of Fort Mill public schools were held in the auditorium Friday morning following assignments of high school pupils Wednesday and Thursday and a faculty meeting Thursday afternoon. The auditorium was filled with pupils and interested friends and patrons, who listened attentively to addresses by captain F. M. Mack, Superintendent, and the Reverend O. L. Orr and the Reverend R. L. Keaton. Inspiring choruses were sung by the high school glee club.

The high school faculty is composed of: Alfred Jones of Fort Mill, principal and science teacher; M. B. Brissie of Liberty, agriculture; J. J. Stevenson, Jr., Of Lake View, history; Miss Lana Parks of Fort Mill, English; Miss. Esther Boyd of Cornwell, mathematics; Miss Sarah Dunlap of Rock Hill, home economics; Miss Susie Caldwell of Chester, Latin and French.

First grade, Miss Minnie Garrison of Fort Mill, Miss Mary Dunlap of Rock Hill and Miss Elizabeth Thomas of Columbia; second grade, Miss Kathleen Patton of Catawba and Miss Bertha Kelly of Pelzer; third grade, Mrs. Zelma Phillips of Fort Mill and Miss Thelma Barbare of Taylor; fourth grade, Miss Kathleen Armstrong of Fort Mill and Miss Sarah Stevenson of Lake View; fifth grade, Miss Elizabeth M. Belk of Fort Mill and Miss LeRhea Counts of Columbia; sixth grade, Miss Ruth Oates of Columbia and Lee Carothers of Fort Mill; seventh grade, Miss Ruby Maddox of Blaney and Rudolf Logan of York.

Riverside school will be in charge of Mrs. R. H. Sutton as principal, assisted by Miss Nell Whitesell of Rock Hill.

Miss Doris Cook of Fort Mill will have charge of Flint Hill school.
