Camden Advertises Blaney Speed Trap

Young Men’s Business League to place Signs Warning Travelers.

Special to the State.

Camden, Nov. 19. – At a special meeting of the executive committee of the young men’s business league of Camden, called for the purpose, it was decided, subject to the indorsement of the whole body at its next regular meeting, to place signs on the Jefferson Davis highway between Camden and Columbia, warning passing motorist of the speed trap now being diligently and profitably operated at Blaney. The victims of this nuisance, of only comparative recents installation, are already legion. Its unreasonableness and obvious unfairness to the transient motorists, are in the opinion of the league, bad advertisements of the state.
