BLANEY MAN INJURED WHEN CAR HIT TREE

Leroy Thornton, 21, who lives in Blaney, is at the Baptist hospital with injuries received when his car crashed into a tree along the side of the road about two miles from Pontiac Friday night.

Mr. Thornton was en route from Columbia to his home in Blaney when the accident occurred, and was alone in the car at the the time. He fell asleep at the wheel, it is believed, and ran into a tree.

Friends who happened to pass by immediately after the accident brought Mr. Thornton to the hospital about 2 o’clock Saturday morning.

Reports from the hospital Saturday morning are that Mr. Thornton is resting very comfortably, but the extent of his injuries is not known as yet. It is thought that he is not seriously hurt.
