Blaney Schools Have Made Fine Progress Under Present Head
(Special to The Record)
BLANEY, S. C., March 23 – At the March meeting of the Blaney school board, Leonardo Andrea was elected for the fifth consecutive year as superintendent of the Blaney public schools.
Much progress has been made under the administration of SuperIntendent Andrea. The enrollment of the school has grown from 180 pupils to 350, and the teaching force from 7 to 12. The high school has been put on the accredited list, and the grammar school is being brought up to the accredited standard, and within another year it is hoped to have all the grammar school work fully accredited. Art, music and penmanship all have special teachers and all the grammar work is departmentalized.
It is hoped soon to erect a new building for the high school and renovate the present building into a modern grammar school building.
