Willie Farmer, 43-year-old farmer of the Pontiac section of Richland county, was instantly killed last night while watering mules at the well in his yard.
Mrs. Farmer had just left the well and gone into the house when the mules became frightened, it was presumed, and threw Mr. Farmer, who was standing and holding them, to the ground.
Coroner W. A. McCain, who investigated, said that in his opinion the man’s neck was broken. There were external injuries, he said but there was evidence of internal hemorrhages.
He is survived by his widow; a half-sister, Mrs. Jane Wynn of Richland County, and a step-son, A. O. Roberts of Pontiac.
