Blaney Woman Dies After Short Illness

Mrs. Hattie Craig, 41, of near Blaney, died at her home Sunday morning, March 31, 1935, following an illness of a few hours.

Mrs. Craig had lived near Blaney all her life and was a devoted member of Spear’s Creek Baptist church. She leaves a host of friends who regret her passing.

Surviving are, her husband, W. C. Craig of Blaney; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Roof of Great Falls and Miss Freda Shannon of Great Falls; four sons, Walter Taylor Shannon and Clyburn Craig of Blaney, Edward Shannon of the Civilian Conservation corps camp at Woodbie, Ga., and John Henry Shannon of Lugoff, one sister, Mrs. Leila Lovett of Blaney; three brothers, Melton Medlin, Thermon Medlin and Legan Medlin, all of Blaney, and her father, James Medlin of Blaney.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 1935, from the Spear’s Creek Baptist church, near Pontiac, conducted by the Rev. Roland Hodge. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Pallbearers were to be G. A. Davis, C. R. Medlin, Jesse Brazel, Earl Lee, Tillman Medlin, and Gilmore Wooten.
