SERVICES TODAY FOR MARZA PERRY

Funeral rites for Marza Perry, 71, who died at his home at Blaney yesterday after an illness of only a few hours were to be conducted this afternoon at the Harmony Baptist church by the Rev. A. L. Willis of Columbia.

Mr. Perry had lived in Blaney for the past 20 years and prior to that at Edgewood. He was a well known farmer and well-digger.

He was a member of the Edgewood Methodist church.

His is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Brown Perry of Blaney; three daughters, Mrs. I. O. Goff and Mrs. A. E. Kirkland, of Blaney and Mrs. Lindsey Rose of Columbia; two sons, J. B. Perry, and S. B. Perry of Blaney; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Aiken of Columbia and 14 grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. W. D. Grigsby, J. R. Abbott, J. W. Conder, J. H. Faulk, Walter Butler, Maxie Butler, Jess Ross, and J. D. Watson.

Active pallbearers will be A. D. Goff, C. W. Rogers, N. S. Pitts, Norman Cook, John Goff and Ira Stockman.

Interment will be at Harmony Baptist churchyard.

Marza Perry Dies; Rites Today

Marza Perry, 71, died at his home at Blaney at 6 o’clock yesterday morning after an illness of only a few hours.

Mr. Perry, a well known farmer and by trade a well driller, had lived at Blaney for the last 20 years and formerly in the Edgewood.

His is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Brown Perry of Blaney; three daughters, Mrs. I. O. Goff and Mrs. A. E. Kirkland, of Blaney and Mrs. Lindsey Rose of Columbia; two sons, J. B. Perry, and S. B. Perry of Blaney; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Aiken of Columbia and 14 grandchildren.

The funeral rites will be conducted at 4 o’clock this afternoon at the Harmony Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. A. L. Willis of Columbia. Mr. Perry’s membership was in the Edgewood Methodist church, in which community he formerly lived.
