Friends of Miss Frances Hallman of 2824 Clark street will be glad to know that she is getting along nicely after undergoing a minor operation recently.

Mrs. Ben Tingle of 2823 Clark Street had as her guest, her mother and sister from Chattanooga, Tenn.

Mrs. Janie Credle of St. George is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Credle, at 2831 Clark street.

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Credle spent the weekend in Branchville and St. George with their parents.

Mrs. L. E. Meetze visited her parents at Blaney Sunday.

John Cpl. Leonard Branham spent the weekend with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. H. Branham, (Daisy Sloan Branham) at Blaney.

Mrs. E. L. Amick and Miss Ruth Amick have returned home after a recent visit in atalanta to Sgt. and Mrs. Henry F. Joeger.

Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Aughtry have returned home after a visit to Miami and Tampa, Fla.

Mrs. H. E. Moore of Atlanta is visiting her brother, E. J. Orr, on Columbia avenue.

Mrs. and Mrs. E. C. Shivers of Atlanta and Mrs. J. C. Ferguson and Miss Lucile Ferguson of Whitmire were guest of Mrs. I. C. Nunnamaker on Anthony street.

Mrs. Irvine B. Leslie of Thomasville, Ga., and her niece, Miss Joyce Leslie of Newberry, were the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alcon the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ward from North Carolina are making their home with Mrs. L. P. Rawls.

Hammon H. Hobbs, Jr., of Washington, D. C. is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. M. M. Kinder on Beaufort street.

Thomas B. Meadows of Augusta, Ga., is visiting his sister, Mrs. M. M. Kinder.

Pfc. Robert B. Baker of the marine detachment, Portsmouth, N. H., returned last Monday to his post after spending ten days with his aunt, Miss Dorothy Ohlkers, on Beaufort street. Before volunteering in the Marine corps in July 1942, Private Baker was employed as an electrician in this city and later in Virginia. He has been stationed at Portsmouth, N. H. for several months.

Frank Starr and Francess Starr are spending several weeks in Western North Carolina with their grandmother and other relatives.

Mrs. Jessie Singleton and young grandson, Jimmy Rish, are visiting relatives in Donalds.

Miss Verdie Mae Caston returned last Friday after spending several days with friends in Covington, Ga.

Miss Verona Hutto spent last weekend with her paretns in Swansea.

Harry Hancock of New Egypt, N. J. spent several days recently with his aunt, Mrs. Sam Barfield on Columbia avenue.

Pfc. Herbert Boykin, en route to Camp McCoy, Wis., visited his cousin, Mrs. Sam Barfield, recently.

Miss Doris Bundrick, has returned after two weeks visit to her father, J. E. Bundrick, in Charleston.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Liles had as their weekend guests, Mrs. Liles parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Harrell, from Charlotte, N. C. They were accompanied by the young grandson, “Bucky” Liles.

Guest of Mrs. B. K. Summersette on Clarke street the past weekend wre her sister, Mrs. T. M. of Ridgeland and her sister Mrs. J. E. Hutto, and son, Larry Hutto, of Holly Hill, from here they went to Walhalla to visit Mrs. W. D. Gilmore and also to visit Oconee State park.

Miriam Summersette is visiting her aunt, Mrs. W. D. Gilmore at Walhalla.

Guest of Mr. and Mrs.Will Jolly and Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Kleckley this week were, Mrs. John O. Edwards and Mrs. O. P. Howard and children, “Butch” and “Lynn” of Moncks Corner and Mrs. Orion V. Dudley of Oakley.
