Horace Jacobs Announces For Seat In House

Horace T. Jacobs, Pontiac farmer and business man is going to be a Democratic candidate from Richland county for the house of reprepresentatives.

His father, the late Wade Hampton Jacobs, was a magistrate in Richland county for 22 years.

Jacobs announced his candidacy yesterday; the first to formally do so.

He is the son of Mrs. Laura Jacobs, of Pontiac; he operates a 278-acre farm there, where he lives and in addition to this he owns and operates a tailor shop in Columbia.

Mr. Jacobs is married, Mrs Jacobs being the former Miss Clara Mae Kizer of Holly Hill, and they have three children, Sylvester, 9; Hampton, 7; and Larry, born February 9.

He completed a business course and was graduated from the Bowen-McFeat Business College, resuming farming upon his graduation.

Mr. Jacobs is a member of the Crescent Hill Baptist Church; Columbia Lodge No. 1190 of the Elks; and the Wade Hampton Club of Young Democrats of Richland county.
