Ridgewood Camp Has Many Guests

RIDGEWOOD CAMP, Sept. 23 – The Women’s Home league of the Salvation Army conducted a visitation of cottages. The War Cry, the Army’s weekly publication was left with each patient. Mrs. Captain Ferking was in charge of the group. Mrs. Myrtle Russell was leader of the league, Mrs. Gertrude Roland, Mrs. Albert Mendenhall, Betty Turner, Janette Turner, Betty Watts, Mrs. Eva Davis and Leon White were present.

The Reverend J. A. Giles was a visitor at the camp last week and had prayer in the cottages.

Miss Mildred Smith’s visitors included Captain Jack Goodard, ANC Station Hospital, Roswell, New Mexico, Miss Idelle McCook and Mrs Dorothy Marschalk of Aiken, and Mrs Herman A. Rupie of Columbia.

Vistors of Miss Bunny Berry’s included, Mrs. C. M. Danner, Mrs. Paul Lindsay, Buddy Lindsay of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Mamie Evans, and Mrs. Jessie Evans of Rockingham, North Carolina, and Mrs. W. F. Berry, Toby Castine, Keith Castine, Curt Brown, Mrs. J. F. Harris, Robert Harris, Miss Idell Thomas, Miss Olivia Thomas, Miss Emma Walker and Mrs. E. H. Castine.

Miss Coletta Rogers had as Sunday guest Miss Gladys Rogers and Mrs. C. O. Potts.

Mrs. Gilbert Dowdy’s visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Taylor, Gilbert Dowdy, Mrs Della Adderson, Mrs. Nellie Adderson, Mrs. Lottie Kelly of Eastover and Mr. Angus Garris.

Camp visitors Monday were Mrs. Etta Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Myers and R. J. Benton, Jr.

Visitors of Mrs. E. E. Catoe included, Mrs. Austin Belk, Miss Ellie Holley, Mr. W. F. Holley, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whitehead and Lee Catoe of Kershaw, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Catoe, Miss Ruby Catoe and S. J. Moore and E. E. Catoe of Columbia.

Mrs. M. P. McCalla had as her company Miss Annie Nickles, Jim McCalla, Mrs. Alvin Wright, Mrs. Bill Wright, Miss Ann McCalla of Anderson, Miss Alvira McCalla of Savannah, Georgia, Miss Belle Nickels of Columbia.
