Gang Escapees Still Sought After Break

Search continue today for two Richland county convicts who escape the chain gang late yesterday afternoon while at Captain Marsh’s camp near Winnsboro.

The pair, Sheriff T. Alex Heise said, were Robert Bracy, 23, of Eastover, serving five years imposed last May for housebreaking and grand larceny, and James Bright, 22 of Blaney, serving four years for housebreaking a grand larceny. Bright escaped once before and at that time was captured in Baltimore, Maryland.

Wesley F. Thompson, night man at the sheriff’s office, said the search was carried on for the pari during the night.
