Birthday Party for Mrs. Earl Jacobs

The home of Mrs. Willie Coleman (Annette Jacobs) at Dentsville was the scene of a lovely surprise birthday party on September 3, given in honor of her mother, Mrs. Earl Jacobs of Pontiac. Mrs. Harold Lippard of New York, sister of Mrs. Coleman (Correction: Should be sister to Mrs. Jacobs), and Mrs. Melvin LeGrand were assistant hostesses.

The living and dining rooms were attrractively decorated with mixed flowers. The honor guest’s chair was marked with a large yellow bow. “Happy Birthday” was sung as Mrs. Jacobs entered the living room.

Many games were enjoyed, the prize winners being Mrs. Jacobs, Mrs. Marie Griffin and Miss Elizabeth Parker. The honor guest received many lovely and useful gifts.

The guest were Melvin LeGrand and son, Miss Eloise Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Railford Coleman and children, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Coley Rose, Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Horne, Harold Lippard of New York, Sgt. Hazel Jacobs and son of Fort Bragg, N. C., Mrs. Eula Coleman, Mrs. Sallie Hooper, Miss Elizabeth Parker, Mrs. Marie Griffin, Mrs. L. L. LeGrand, Misses Myrtis and Alma LeGrand and Willie Coleman.

Mrs. Jacobs, the guest of honor, wore a grey dress with a corsage of red roses presented to her by the hostesses.

Punch and birthday cake were served during the evening.
