Cayce – (Special) – The Vota-Vita Sunday school class of State Street baptist church held its monthly business meeting at the home of Mrs. J. M. Manuel. The meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs. Carrie Bell DuPriest. Mrs. J. E. Hall brought the devotional, taken from First John 1, followed by prayer by Mrs. A. P. Davis, Mrs. J. K. Dennis, class secretary, read the minutes, which were approved as read Mrs. S. B. Bailey, treasurer, also gave her report, the nominating committee presented the following to serve for the coming year: President, Mrs. V. E. Suber; first vice-president, Mrs. R. L. Bran; second vice-president, Mrs. H. G. Aughtry; third vice-president, Mrs. C. B. Cayce; secretary, Mrs. I. K. Dennis; assistant secretary, Mrs. Carrie Belle DuPriest; treasurer, Mrs. S. B. Bailey; devotional chairman, Mrs. R. E. Craig; teacher, Mrs. A. P. Davis, and assistant teacher, Mrs. J. M. Manuel. The meeting adjourned and the hostesses, Mrs. J. M Manuel and Mrs. R. E. Craig, served delicious refreshments to Mrs. Carrie Bell DuPriest, Mrs. R. L. Bray, Mrs. S. B. Bailey, Mrs. A. P. Davis, Mrs. V. E. Suber, Mrs. H. G. Aughtry, Mrs. I. K. Dennis and Mrs. J. E. Hall.
Mrs. Ellen Jolly has returned to her home in New York City after spending several weeks with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. I. K. Dennis.
Miss Jessie Dellinger and brother, Dave Dellinger of Charlotte, N. C., have returned home after a visit to their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dellinger.
Millage Craps and son, Ellis Craps, of Florida visited friends in Cayce Wednesday.
Sgt. and Mrs. Jack Mangold are visiting Sergeant Mangold’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mangold, in Huntingburg, Ind. They also visited friends in Knoxville, Tenn., en route to Indiana.

Mrs. Marshall Conner is a patient at the Veterans’ hospital for nurses where she underwent an operation Thursday.

Miss Evelyn Davis, who underwent a tonsil operation Monday at the Baptist hospital, has returned home and is improving.
Raymond Davis, who spent the past summer as supply pastor in Marion, Va., has returned home and will resume his studies at the Lutheran seminary.

Goodwin gave the scripture reading, Second Corinthians, 6-12, the topic being “Gifts That Encircle the Globe.” Mrs. W. H. Johnson gave a personal message on the Wesley Lawtons, former missionaries to China. Mrs. S. B. Bailey gave an interesting message on “Woman’s Missionary Union Week at Camp Rawls.” Prayer was offered by Mrs. R. H. Fulmer. After a brief business session the meeting closed with prayer. Mrs. A. M. The meeting was opened with the group singing “Work for the Night is Coming,” after which Mrs. C. E. Long led in prayer. Mrs. R. A. Thompson gave the devotional. The secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting and gave her report. Each member introduced herself. The various officers gave their reports. Old and new business was discussed.
