Cleveland Medlin Of Pontiac Dies

Funeral services for Cleveland R. Medlin, 61, of Pontiac, who died last night at the Columbia hospital after a two weeks’ illness, will be conducted at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Spears Creek Baptist church, by the late Rev. M. V. Horne, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. A. L. Wood. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Active pallbearers will be Howell Ross, Brown Ross, G. P. Monroe, Heyward Coon, Melton Brazell and Elerby Dabbs.

The active pallbearers are requested to meet at the residence at 3:30. The body will be taken to the home at 7 o’clock this evening.

Mr. Medlin was born in Richland county, near Pontiac, the son of the late Calvin and Margaret Jacobs Medlin.

He was a member of the Spears Creek Baptist church. He was a farmer and carpenter by trade.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Florence Jacobs Medlin; three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Hornsby, and Mrs. Milwee Youngblood, both of Pontiac, and Mrs. Evelyn Bullock of Bessemer, Ala; one son, Bert Medlin of Pontiac, one step-son, Earl Jacobs of Pontiac; six grandchildren and one niece.

Cleveland R. Medlin, 61, of Pontiac, died at 8:10 last night att the Columbia hospital after an illness of two weeks.

Mr. Medlin was born in Richland county, near Pontiac, the son of the late Calvin and Margaret Jacobs Medlin.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night. The body is at the Paschal-Regal Funeral Home.
