Funeral services for Thomas Blackmon Tucker, 49, of Blaney, will be conducted Friday, September 8, 1950 at 4 p.m. at the Salem Methodist church, conducted by Rev. A. L. Wood and burial will be in the churchyard.
Active pallbearers were to be R. W. Ellisor, R. O. Paschal, L. B. Nelson, Lonnie Peake, Otto Jacobs and Earl Jacobs.
Honorary pallbearers were to be G. P. Monroe, I. J. Jacobs, Charlie Davis, Dewey Brazell, Sam Peake, L. W. Conder, A. B. Cook, J. D. Dunnaway, L. W. Smith, Lee Peake, J. D. Smith, Dave Koon, Jr., A. J. Ross and T. M. Rabon.
The active pallbearers will meet at the residence at 3:30 this afternoon, and the honorary will assemble t the church at 4 o’clock.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Turnipseed Turner; mother, Mrs. Emma Tucker, Blaney; one brother, R. R. Tucker, Blaney; and one sister, Mrs. Alice Peake of Route 3, Columbia. The body will remain at the Thompson funeral home until noon Friday, at which time it will be taken to his home in Blaney.
Mr. Tucker was found dead this morning, September 7, 1950, in his room at State Park, where he was employed as a carpenter. It is believed he died Tuesday, September 5, 1950.
Coroner William A. Plott said last night that Mr. Tucker died of natural causes and had apparently been dead about 12 hours when his body was discovered.
