On the afternoon of September 22, Mrs. Melvin LeGrand entertained at a lovely children’s party in celebration of the fourth birthday of her son, Wayne.
As the young guests arrived they were given orange and black party whistles. Several games were enjoyed and pictures were taken outdoors. Later the children were invited into the house. The candles on the lovely green and yellow iced birthday cake were lighted and the children sang “Happy Birthday To Wayne.” Punch, sandwiches, cake and potato chips were served.
Those enjoying the party with Wayne were: Joan and Betty Sisk, Ronnie Gnatt, Betty Lou and Gloria Ann Hammond, Paul Kannaday, Jr., Gerald, Leverne and Leland LeGrand, Mary and Marie Barefoot, and Wayne LeGrand.
Grown-ups present were: Mrs. Earl Jacobs, Mrs. A. E. Barefoot, Mrs. Annette Coleman, Miss Eloise Jacobs, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin LeGrand (Earline LeGrand).
