Moseley, Deputy Sheriff Louis Clyburn, members of the county police, under the direction of Chief Purdy Lee, and an officer from the state constabulary raided nine places wherein they charged whiskey and beer were being sold on Sunday.

The raid resulted in a parade of defendants before Magistrate C. B. Blyther here and Magistrate A. B. Nelson at Blaney.

There were six cases in which beer was being dispensed and three in which whiskey was retailed, it was said. Four defendants forfeited bond in Mr. Nelson’s court and five in Mr. Blyther’s.

According to Sheriff Moseley, the raid followed the activities of an undercover agent from the state constabulary who had paid a visit to the several places where there was a suspicion that hard liquor and beer were being sold on Sunday.

The raid came with suddenness and in each case was productive of the uncovering of whiskey and beer on the several premises.
