Miss Cleo Evelyn Crumpton of Blaney and Columbia, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John Crumpton of Blaney became the bride of John William Daugherty son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Daugherty of Bristol, Tenn., in a double-ring ceremony which took place at Park Street Baptist church, December 23 at 3:30 p.m. Dr. Paul Wheeler, pastor of the bride, officiated.
The wedding music was presented by Miss Eugenia Cox, organist, and John Dalton, soloist.
Miss Lois Crumpton, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a purple suit with black accessories, and wore a corsage of yellow rosebuds.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Alfred Crumpton, wore a medium – blue suit with lizard accessories and a white off -the -face hat. She also wore a white purple throated orchid corsage.
Mr. Daugherty had as his best man, Keith Blevins of Bristol, Tenn.
Mrs. John Crumpton, mother of the bride, wore a gray suit with black accessories, and a corsage of pink carnations.
Mrs. J. L. Daugherty, mother of the bridegroom, wore a grey suit with navy accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.
Immediately following the ceremony, the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina and visited the bride groom’s parents in Bristol, Tennessee.
The bride is a graduate of the Blythewood high school, and is now employed as a bookkeeper with the F. W. Woolworth company of the city.
Mr. Daugherty is a graduate of the Holston Valley high school of Bristol, Tennessee, and was employed as an assistant manager of the F. W. Woolworth company of Columbia prior to entering the United States Army.
Among the out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Daugherty, Miss Cora Mae Daugherty and Keith Blevins, all of Bristol, Tenn.
