Thomas – Grainger Wedding Tonight
Miss Mary LeNeve Thomas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Thomas and niece of Miss Jennie Marie Thomas of Columbia, and Jennings Bryan Grainger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Hoyt Grainger Sr. of Florence, will be married this evening at 8 o’clock in the First Baptist Church. . . Joe Burnette, educational director of the church, will officiate at the ceremony. The wedding music will be rendered by M. Berry Seay, organist; Mrs. Lloyd Hendricks, violinist; Mrs. S. N. Woodard and Deck Taylor, vocalists. . . . The bride-elect, who is to be given in marriage by her maid of honor her cousin, Miss Mary Harvey of Washington, D. C., and for her matron of honor Mrs. James H. Lesesne, the former Miss Alma Frances Grainger, of Spartanburg, sister of the bridegroom-elect. Bridesmaids are Misses Betty Harvey and Romesa Jaco, cousins of the bride-elect, Miss Eliza Herndon, Miss Joan Gayden, Mrs. W. C. Reames, the former Miss Shirley Sills, and Mrs. W. A. Smyrl, the former Miss Princa McManus, Katharine Foran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Foran of Columbia, and Nikki Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben K. Walker of Columbia, will be flower girls. The ring bearer is Johnny Jacobs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace T. Jacobs (Clara Mae Jacobs) of Columbia. . . . The bridegroom-elect’s best man will be Marshall I. Price. The ushers will be Charles Thomas of Columbia and Knoxville, Tenn., brother of the bride-elect; William Spencer of Columbia and M. Hoyt Grainger Jr. of Florence, brother of the bridegroom-elect; carroll Grainger of Fair Bluff, N. C., cousin of the bridegroom-elect; W. C. Reames and W. A. Smyrl, both of Columbia, and Ralph Johnson of Aiken and Columbia, Frank Thomas, brother of the bride-elect, and Woody Sand for will light the candles. . . . .Immediately following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Baptist Students Center, 1618 Pendleton St.
