The tenth annual FFA Purebred Livestock show sponsored by Sears, Roebuck Foundation in cooperation with The State Department of Education will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the State Fairgrounds, according to an announcement by P. G. Chastain, district supervisor agricultural education, and Luther Kemp, manager of Sears, Roebuck in Columbia.
This project, accepted and conducted by the Vocational Agricultural Teachers, involves the FFA chapter membership in their schools, and is sponsored by the Sears, Roebuck Foundation to simulate the development and the progress of swine production in the Columbia area.
the entries in Columbia show are restricted to the following FFA chapter: Baron DeKalb; Batesburg-Leesville; Bethune; Blaney; Blythewood; Chapin; Columbia; Dentsville; Gilbert; Irmo; Lexington; Lower-Richland; Mt. Pisgah and Swansea.
Ribbons will be awarded in the show for fitting and showmanship, placing of gilts and boars, Grand Champion and Reserve Champion gilts, Grand Champion and Reserve Champion boars, and the chapter exhibit placings.
