J. B. Perry, 56, Dies at Hospital

James Bateman Perry, 56, of Blaney, died at the Veterans Hospital today after a very short illness. He was a carpenter.

He was a native of Columbia, a son of Mrs. Lizzie Brown Perry and the late Marzie Perry, and had been employed at the Veterans Hospital.

Surviving besides his mother are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Kelly Perry; a daughter; Miss Doris Perry; a son, Jack Perry, and three sisters, Mrs. I. O. Goff, Mrs. Ernest Kirkland and Mrs. Lindsay Rose, all of Blaney, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Paschal-Regal Funeral Home.

The body is at the funeral home.

Jesse B. Perry, Blaney Dies; Rites Friday

Jesse Bateman Perry, 56, carpenter of Blaney, died at the Veterans Hospital yesterday after a very short illness.

He was a native of Columbia, a son of Mrs. Lizzie Brown Perry and the late Marzie Perry, and had been employed at the Veterans Hospital.

Surviving besides his mother are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Kelly Perry; a daughter Miss Doris Perry; a son Jack Perry, and three sisters, Mrs. I. O. Goff, Mrs. Ernest Kirkland and Mrs. Lindsay Rose, all of Blaney; a brother, Sumter Perry of Blaney, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock, Friday afternoon from Union Baptist Church near Blaney, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Brookshire, and Chaplain Wilie R. Deal. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Perry Kirkland, Marion Kirkland, Powell Kirkland, Thurston Goff, Bobby Goff and Otis Goff.

Honorary pallbearers will be J. B. Perry, Ronnie Jones, Bill Jones, Ed Campbell, Edwin Sessions, and A. M. Markham.

The body will remain at Paschal-Regal Funeral Home until this afternoon when it will be taken to the residence at Blaney.

Perry Funeral This Afternoon
