Corrie Texanna Copeland Hook Whiteside was born April 12, 1872, in Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, South Carolina, a daughter of Joseph Copeland and Catherine Kaminer.

1920 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on January 22, 1920, Thomas B Whiteside (34) owned a home in Lexington, Lexington County, South Carolina with his wife, Corrie T Whiteside (47), his sons; Erskine H Whiteside (6) and Coley B Whiteside (2) and step-sons; Vanburen Hook (16) and Johnnie Hook (14) and aunt, Sarah E C Hook (67). All household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Thomas B was an excavator for general gradings, Corrie T was a farmer on a general farm, Vanburen and Johnnie were laborers on the home farm.

1930 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on April 7, 1930, Thomas B Whiteside (43) owned a home in Lexington, Lexington County, South Carolina with his wife, Corrie T Whiteside (54) and sons; Erskin H Whiteside (17) and Colie B Whiteside (13). All household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Thomas B Whiteside was a farmer.

1940 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on May 9, 1930, Mrs. Carrie T Whiteside (66) owned a home in Lexington, Lexington County, South Carolina, also in the home was her hired hand, Lee Roof (50) and a companion, Anna Moak (57). All household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina, Carrie lived in the same house on April 1, 1935, however both Lee and Anna lived in a rural area in Lexington County, South Carolina. Carrie was a farmer on a farm, Lee was a hired hand on the farm, and Anna was a servant in a home.

1956

Funeral Services for Mrs. Corrie Texanna Hook Whiteside were to be held today, December 3, 1956 at 3 p.m., in Zion Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. C. E. Seastrunk, assisted by the Rev. George Baker and the Rev. Irby D. Bates. Interment was to be in Mount Hebron Methodist churchyard.

Mrs. Whiteside, 84, of 1610 Auguesta Rd., West Columbia, died early Sunday, December 2, 1956 in Baptist Hospital.

Formerly of the Oak Grove Section of Lexington County, Mrs. Whiteside had lived in West Columbia several years, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are four sons, J. C. Hook of Blaney, and V. B. Hook, C. B. Whiteside, and E. H. Whiteside, all of West Columbia; two half-sisters, Mrs. Pearl Gunter and Mrs. Queenie Hutto, both of Swansea; two half-brothers, Muller Copeland and Walter Copeland, both of Swansea; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were to be Robert Archeart Nevins Hook, E. D. Senn, J. D. Matthias, Wilbur Kaminer and Heber Kaminer.

Honorary pallbearers were to be Robert Moak, Lee Roof, Mittus Caughman, Ernest Kaminer, Thomas D. Hook, Allen Archeart, Frank Mathias and Jesse Lee Kleckley.

The body will remain at the Thompson Funeral Home until the time of the services.
