According to the United States census reported on April 22, 1910, Richard H Proveaux (22) rented a home in Warren, Colleton County, South Carolina, with his wife of 2 years, Ellen Proveaux (17) and their daughter; Annie Proveaux (1). It was reported that all family members were born in South Carolina. Richard H Proveaux was a farm laborer.

1930 Census Information:

According to the United States census reported on April 8, 1930, Richard H Proveaux (43), rented a home in Rossville, Chester County, South Carolina, with his wife, Mattie E Proveaux (39), and their children; Herbert F Proveaux (17), Hattie M Proveaux (12), Howard Z Proveaux (4) and Annie K Davis (21). It was reported that all family members were born in South Carolina. Richard H Proveaux was a machinist in a cotton mill and Annie K Davis was a speeder hand at the cotton mill.

1957

Richard H. Proveaux, retired textile worker, died Sunday night, January 20, 1957 in a local hospital.

He was born in Colleton County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Great Falls.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Proveaux; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Davis, Camden, and Mrs. Paul Kirkland, Blaney; one son, Herbert F. Proveaux, Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. R. O. Jones and Mrs. Allen Proveaux; one brother, George Proveaux, Brancheville; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 this afternoon from Paschal Funeral Home by the Rev. W. D. Connor. Interment will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be W. R. Byrd, A. J. Kyall, R. W. Thrillkill, B. L. Catoe, George W. Romonstine, and J. R. Epps.

The family will be at the home of Herbert Proveaux, 1531 Toronto Street.

The body is at the Paschal Funeral Home.

On March 22, 1973, Richard F. Proveaux was mentioned as the deceased father in the obituary of Mrs. Annie Catherine Davis.
