CAMDEN – Six Kershaw County high school girls have been named by the students and faculty members to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award.
Winners are: Camden, Marietta Williams; Blaney, Peggy Stockman Moak; Dekalb, Sue Seegars; Bethune, Imogene Horton; Midway, Emma Lee Jordan: and Mt. Pisgah, Mamie K. Fletcher.
Each year girls of senior classes at high schools are named to receive this award on the basis of their dependability, service, leadership, personality, and patriotism.
Three are named from each senior class by students and the faculty picks one of the three. Her name is sent by the principal to the state chairman of the DAR Good Citizens Committee for competition in the state contest.
The S. C. High School Good Citizen will be named in February.
