Mr. Hornsby’s Funeral Today

Funeral services for Clifton (Turner) Hornsby will be held at 5 o’clock this afternoon from Paschal Funeral Home. Interment will be in Old Sandyfield Cemetery near Blythewood.

Mr. Hornsby, 87, retired farmer of Blythewood, died Thursday in the Columbia Hospital.

He was born in Aiken County, a son of the late Sy Hornsby and Eliza Branham Hornsby and was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church at Blythewood.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Hornsby; five daughters, Mrs. B. A. Jacobs and Mrs. Luther Douglas, both of Columbia, Mrs. C. E. Ballentine, Ballentine; Mrs. Lorick Douglas, Dentsville; Mrs. George Hayes, Irmo; three sons, Willie Hornsby, Columbia; Roy Hornsby, Pontiac; Johnny Hornsby, Blythewood; 36 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
