Ross – Crowley Wedding Plans and Parties

Miss Margie Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Paul Ross, Sr. (Lillian Carrie Hair Ross), of Blaney, and Willard O. (Bill) Crowley Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Crowley of Sumter, will be married at 4:30 o’clock, August 16, in Union Baptist Church in Blaney. The Rev. Walter W. Chapman of Leesvilles will officiate.

Mrs. Kelley Covington, organist and Kelley Covington, soloist, of Washington, D. C., will present the wedding music.

Mrs. Emory B. Kelley, Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., sister of the bride-elect, will be matron of honor, and Miss Martha Barnes of Camden will be maid of honor. Bridesmaid are Miss Helen McDaniel of Columbia, Miss Jo Ann Hubbard of Bare Creek, Tenn, Mrs. Harold E. Ross, sister-in-law of the bride-elect, all classmates, and Miss Dot Crowley of Sumter, sister of the bridegroom-elect.

Junior bridesmaid are Miss Cindy Cochran and Miss Tammie Emanuel.

Cindy Kelley, niece of the bride-elect, will be flower girl.

Usher are Clarence and Joll Canada and Jimmie Smith, cousins of the bridegroom-elect; Emory B. Kelley Jr., brother-in-law of the bride-elect; and Harold and J. Paul Ross, Jr. brothers of the bride-elect.

Following the ceremony a reception will be held at the home of the bride.

(Bill) Crowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Crowley of Sumter, are miscellaneous shower by Mrs. Marie Smith of Florence and Mrs. W. O. Crowley of Sumter at the latter’s home on July 17; shower party on July 31 by the WMS of Union Baptist Church in the church social hall; drop-in by Miss Leonard Boykin and her daughter, Miss Frances Boykin, at their home in Darlington on July 28; a luncheon and shower on Aug. 11 by Mrs. E. T. Bowen at her home on Blaney, rehearsal party on Aug. 15. by Dr. and Mrs. R. A. Cochran and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Emanuel; and bridesmaids’ luncheon by Mrs. Boykin Rose and her daughter, Mrs. Roy Shaw Jr. of Marion, at the Thomas Tavern in Camden.
