CAMDEN – Funeral services for Robert M. McKay, 64, Blaney farmer, were conducted in Smyrna Methodist Church in West Wateree at 11 o’clock this morning by the Rev. Furman Harvey and the Rev. George Partridge. Burial was in the Smyrna Methodist churchyard.
Mr. McKay died Wednesday morning, August 17, 1960 in a Columbia hospital after an illness of about six weeks.
Born in Fairfield County, he was a son of the late Joseph McKay and Mary Atkinson McKay and attended the Richland County schools. He was a member of Sanders Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include nine daughters, Mrs. George T. Rabon, Mrs. Janie Bell Rabon and Mrs. Hampton Watts of Blaney, Mrs. James E. McKay of Columbia, Mrs. Jessie Munday, Mrs. Betty Tarkington and Mrs. William Weaver of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Billie Trouble and Miss Frances McKay of Hilliard, Fla.; a son, Wayne McKay of Hilliard, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. John M. Kelly of Blaney and 20 grandchildren.
