Ronald Claude Hatfield Sr. was born March 19, 1894 in Kershaw, South Carolina.

Funeral services for Ronald Claude Hatfield, 67, who died Sunday, August 20, 1961 in a local hospital after an illness of several months, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church by the Rev. Furman Harvey and the Rev. Lorence Davis. Interment will be in the churchyard.

The Rev. Furman Harvey and the Rev. Lorence Davis will officiate.

Active pallbearers are Harvey Nelson, Mac Branham, Crenshaw Branham, Ira Goff, Edwin Session and Earl Stockman.

Honorary pallbearers are Lexie Moak, Judge Nelson, Donnie Watson, Ed Campbell, and the Board of Deacons of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mr. Hatfield was a retired textile worker and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Blaney.

Survivors include a son, Ronald C. Hatfield Jr. of Columbia; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Spradley of Blaney, Mrs. Bermelle Churchwell of Hopkins and Mrs. Vonville Corley of Hodges: a stepson, H. M. Jeffcoat of West Columbia, and a number of grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Spradley of Blaney where the body was to be taken today.

On August 21, 1961, R. C. Hatfield was listed in the newspaper article “Deaths.”
