Alvin L. (“Jack”) Morgan, 73, of Route 2, Blaney, died Friday at his home after an extended illness.
He was born at Blaney, son of Sanford (“Nash”) Morgan and Katie McDonald Morgan. He was a farmer, and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Alice Nelson Morgan; two daughters, Miss Ellie Morgan of Blaney and Mrs. M. H. Wessigner (Pearl) of Columbia; one son, Willis Curtis Morgan of Blaney and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Cook of Columbia and Mrs. Lucille Coker and Mrs. Antis Cooper of Blaney.
The body is at the Paschal Funeral Home, and the family at the residence.
Morgan Funeral This Afternoon
Funeral Services for Alvin (Jack) Morgan will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, from the Hillcrest Baptist Church at Blaney by the Rev. Furman Harvey and the Rev. R. M. Sellers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Morgan of Route 2, Blaney, was born in Blaney son of the late Sanford (Nash) Morgan and Katie McDonald Morgan. He was a farmer, and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers will be Willard Coker, John Coker, N. T. Cook, Eddie Ross, David Marsh and Lonnie B. Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Men’s Bible Class at Hillcrest Church and members of Men’s Bible Class at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Sarah Alice Nelson Morgan; two daughters, Miss Ellie Morgan of Blaney and Mrs. M. H. Wessigner (Pearl) of Columbia; one son, Willis Curtis Morgan of Blaney and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Cook of Columbia and Mrs. Lucille Coker and Mrs. Antis Cooper of Blaney.
Active pallbearers will meet at the home at 3:30 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will met at 3:55 p.m. at the church.
Paschal Funeral Home is in charge.
