Mrs. W. M. Smith

SWANSEA – Mrs. Dora Goodwin Smith, 82, of Swansea, widow of Willie Morgan Smith, died in Baptist Hospital early Saturday after an illness of several weeks.

She was a lifelong resident of Swansea and Gaston and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gaston.

Surviving are two sons, John C. Smith of Elgin and Talmadge Grady Smith of Orangeburg, and five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Douglas of Winnsboro, Mrs. Annie Mae Young and Mrs. Orita Barr, of Swansea, Mrs. G. N. (Ruth) Day of West Columbia and Mrs. Onida Day of Savannah, Ga.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Gaston, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. W. C. Brissie, and the Rev. H. J Alban Jr. Interment will be in the church yard

The body will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. (Ruth) Day, 501 Line St. West Columbia, and will be carried to the church 2:30 p.m. Monday.
