ELGIN – Funeral services for Luther Preston Gambrell will be held tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. N. D. Sellers and the Rev. Wiley Evans.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Gambrell, 80, died April 12 in Columbia Hospital.

He was born in Greenville, a son of the late Henry Gambrell and Annie Poole Gambrell. He had lived in Elgin 17 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris Craft Gambrell; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Porter and Mrs. Brenda Corder of Columbia, Miss Sandra Gambrell of Elgin, Mrs. Thelma Tinsley of Mobile, Ala.; three sons, Jerry Gambrell of Columbia, Pfc. Peake Gambrell of the U. S. Army and George Gambrell of Elgin; a stepson, Larry Craft of the U. S. Air Force; and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Dickerson of Greer.
