He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Baraca Sunday School class and was a past chancelor commander of Myrtle Lodge 3 Knights of Phythias and a member of Columbia Lodge 1190, order of the Elks.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clara Mae Kizer Jacobs; a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Y. Daughtry of Atlanta; three sons, Hampton H., Larry E. and John T. Jacobs of Columbia; two sister, Mrs. Evetta Jacobs and Mrs. Lois Lippard of Pontiac; and three brothers, A. L. Jacobs, Sr., of Pontiac, W. T. Jacobs of Columbia and Hazel Jacobs of Houston, Tex.

PONTIAC – Horace Tillman Jacobs, 71, died Thursday in Providence Hospital.
Mr. Jacobs was born in Pontiac, a son of the late Wade Hampton and Laura Thomas Jacobs. He was a graduate of Bowen-McFeat Buiness College and since 1920 was a merchant tailor.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Baraca Sunday School class and was a past chancelor commander of Myrtle Lodge 3 Knight of Phythis and a member of Columbia Lodge 1190, of the order of Elks.
