Preston Davis of Memphis, Tenn. captured the fourth annual “Dixie Finals” in 6.91 seconds at 217 miles per hour Saturday night at the Blaney Drag Strip.

Gene Snow of Ft. Worth Texas took the funny car race, Joe Stock of Burlington, N. C. won the Pro Stock competition, Charlie Blalock of Wilmington, N. C. captured the modified Eliminator race and Marion Hayes of Lancaster took the Big Stock category. Theron Smith of Gilbert won the Little Stock Elimination.
