In Saturday night’s action at the Blaney Drag Strip in Elgin, Sam Carroll of Durham, N. C. driving Steve Bagwell’s Plymouth Duster won the featured Pro Stock competition. Carroll clocked a 9.21 seconds E. T. at 148.76 miles-per-hour on the winning run. Second place went to Carlton Phillips of Vienna, Va. in a Camaro.

Other eliminator winners were; Tommy Tice of Marshville, N. C. in Stock Eliminator, Gene Lyda of Greenville, in Modified Eliminator, Bubba Martin of Lexington, in Super Stock Eliminator.

In the E. T. Bracket racing, Dwight Shealy of Lexington, won E. T. II Class, and David Brinkman of Augusta, Ga. won E. T. I class.

In motorcycle E. T. racing, Barry Lewis of Eastover won E. T. I, John Hammond of Hanahan won E. T. II, and Marshall Smith of Chester won E. T. III class.
