Joseph T. Hornsby
ELGIN – Joseph Tillman Hornsby, 82, a retired farmer and civil service employe, died Saturday in the VA hospital in Columbia after a long illness.
He was born in Kershaw County, a son of the late Charlie Hornsby and Mettie Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby was a World War I veteran.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eliza Branham Hornsby of Elgin; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Nelson of Elgin, Mrs. Marshall Murrow of Charleston and Mrs. Donald D. Nelson of Jonesboro, Ga.; two sons, Woodrow T. Hornsby of Lugoff and John Hornsby of Elgin, and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 5 p.m. today at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
