ELGIN – Raymond Beadle and his Blue Max Mustang have been added to the lineup for Saturday night’s Dixie Finals at Blaney Drag Strip.
Track officials announced Thursday that the Dallas, Tex., veteran would replace Ron Jackson in the four-car Funny Car division. Jackson was forced to withdraw because of mechanical difficulites.
Beadle will be challenged in the Funny Car ranks by Tommy Ivo, Larry Fullerton and R. C. Sherman.
Don Garlits heads the Fuel Dragster field that includes Clayton Harris, Allen Starr and Bob Edwards.
The $14,000 event begins at 7 o’clock and also features Pro Stock, Super Stock, Modified and Stock Eliminator and E. T. Bracket racing.
