Ellerbe Hasell Ross was born August 27, 1898 in Blaney, a son of the late Jesse T. Ross and Nancy Goff Ross.
1910 Census Information:
According to the 1910 United States Census recorded on April 15, 1910; Jussee Ross (34) owned a farm in Wateree Township in Kershaw County, with whom he shared with his wife of fourteen years, Nannie Ross (34). Nannie reported that she was the mother of seven children, six of whom were still living. Also in home were their children; Elerby Ross (13), Charlotte Ross (11), Willoby Ross (9), William Ross (9), Monnie Ross (6) and Beattrice Ross (7 months old). All of the household members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Jussee was a merchant of a general mercantile.

On August 19, 1961, E. H. Goff was listed as a living brother in the obituary of Charlotte Ross Goff.
1978
Ellerbe Hasell Ross, 79, of 1118 Lafayette Ave., Cayce, died today (July 6, 1978) in a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Thompson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Russell E. Kaemmerling. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ron Lindsey, Harold Shull Sr., Richard Bieksha, Phill Ross, Eldred Goff and Doug Nye.
Mr. Ross was born in Blaney, a son of the late Jesse T. Ross and Nancy Goff Ross.
He was a meber of the First Baptist Church of West Columbia for 54 years, serving as a deacon and trustee for many of these years.
He was retired from Mt. Vernon Woodberry Mills. He was a Mason, former members of West Columbia Council, and a former trustee of the Brookland-Cayce School District.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Evans Ross; a son, Dr. Hasell G. Ross of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Mortimer S. Smith (Elaine Ross Smith) of Cayce; a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Hamlin of Columbia; and five grandchildren.
