ELGIN – Funeral Services for Harvey W. Nelson Sr. were to be held today at 5 p.m. in Hillcrest Baptist Church, with Masonic rites.

Mr. Nelson, 65, died Tuesday, July 11, 1978 in a Columbia hospital.

Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Frank A. Nelson and Effie Goff Nelson.

He was retired salesman with the Tampa Corp., and a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as treasurer, deacon, and former Sunday school teacher. He was also a Mason and member of Fiedon Society.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ines Ross Nelson; three sons, H. Donald Nelson of Atlanta, Larry W. Nelson of Elgin and the Rev. H. Wilson Nelson Jr. of Kenly, N. C.; a brother, Avery H. Nelson of Anderson; and six grandchildren.

The family suggest that those who wish to make memorials to the Gideon Society or the Leukemia Society.
